My baby is 9 months old

Time seriously slow down for this momma! My baby, my sweet Sam is 9 months old. I have a date already picked for his first birthday party. I have a theme! I have looked at invitations! My goodness I can't take it. He is still supposed to be a newborn.

He is this sweetest, happiest baby around. And he is loving his momma too. :) I am raising another momma's boy and I couldn't be happier about it. This may sound silly but I feared Sam would not need or want me as much as Andrew still does and did as a baby. But I should not have even worried about that. Sam watches me come into a room and his face lights up. He gets visibly sad when I leave as well. In fact he gets so upset when we get home and I put him down to do a chore that now I just leave all the chores until they go to sleep. I sit with him and play while Andrew watches his afternoon tv. Andrew usually sits with us and we have really good momma and son time.

Sam is trying his hardest to crawl. He some how still manages to get whatever toy he wants even if it is out of reach. I call him go go gadget arms. It is amazing. He is finally lifting up on all fours and will rock but he doesn't move the legs or arms to move forward. He scoots a little, but mainly backwards.

His sounds are becoming words. He says dadadada the most. He practices the "ma" sound & he tries to say Ralphie - in fact it is a squealing sound. I also think he is tying to say Andrew. The other day he screamed AAAA and looked at Andrew.

He watches Andrew's every move. This is very apparent in the car. Sam leans over as far as he can to peek at what Andrew is doing. Getting Sam in his car seat is a night mare. He hates it. I am looking forward to flipping him so he can have a better view. He is definitely my nosy neighbor baby. He watches everything so closely.

Sam goes to sleep around 6:15 and usually sleeps until 6. He is wearing 9-12 month clothes but more on the 12 month side. He is still taking two naps - sometimes 3 on the weekends. You can tell when he is sleepy b/c he gets upset very easily and his toys are no longer fun for him. He gets a red spot between his eyes too. He will let you hold him and sway for a little bit before putting him down in his crib. He will suck on his pacifier right before he falls asleep too. I am amazed that I can put Sam down while awake for a nap and he doesn't cry or anything. He just goes to sleep on his own! He is a baby book example!

He still doesn't eat alot of food. He consistently eats at lunch time but that is it. I think I finally found a baby food he likes - Beach Nut - the walmart brand. Well at least this week he seems to like it. He drinks 5 bottles a day.

Sam has a fifth sinus infection. Not an ear infection so that is good - but still has a running nose and congestion. He had it for two weeks or so but the drainage turned green last week so I took him the doctor. He said he probably got a cold and since his sinuses are small and haven't matured it turned into an infection.

He loves banging on things. He even actually clapped the other day. He has only done it once, so it may have been a fluke.

He loves the Mommy and Me songs. In fact when I sing them at home, he looks up at me with a sly smile like it is our secret that we both know these songs. It is so funny and precious.

Here are the latest pictures of my sweet Sam.

These 9 months have been the fastest of my life! I am sure of it.

Andrew spends the night out

Owen had his sinus surgery last Thursday. It went well and definitely needed to be done but the recovery has been hard. He is miserable and is in a lot of pain. He can't help with the boys right now so it has been a long week. Luckily Owen's parents live in our neighborhood and they offered to help us this past weekend. They have been there to pick the kids up from school and on Saturday they took Andrew to his cousins soccer game for the morning. After the game they had lunch and came back home so Andrew could take a nap. After his nap they came back over to pick him for a spend the night party. We had been talking about them doing this for a while. We thought Andrew was ready for it. This past Saturday was the perfect time. He helped me pack his back. Andrew took his blanket, mickey mouse and reindeer pillow pet. He gave me a hug and Owen knuckles and off he went. I couldn't believe it. He does love spending time with Aha and Mick. They spoil him :) I checked on him via texts and all was going well. I really wanted to call and tell him good night but didn't. Aha told me he took a long fun bath and they read stories, said their prayer and sang the "I love you" song. This is what we do at home so that made me smile inside. He went to sleep around 9 and woke up at 6:30 am. They never called me to come get him. I just knew they were going to call me. I slept with my phone.

Here is Andrew and Mick sharing an apple together. Andrew went to the grocery store with Aha and he picked out an apple. Then he asked Aha if he could get one for Mick too.

I was good all day Saturday and even Saturday night. Sam was an only child for the night and that was nice too. He got to have a bath all by himself and play with all the toys. Sam has never taken a bath by himself!

But then Sunday morning came and I missed Andrew so badly. He is now my alarm clock. He comes in and wakes me up in the mornings. He is up and ready to go in the mornings and even though I thought I would like the calm morning, I didn't. I missed my sweet little boy.

Owen called his parents that morning to check on things. They wanted to take Andrew to church - so we made plans to meet up for lunch after church. Sam and I got there first and when Andrew came around the corner to see us all he said was "I'm back"! Really...no MOM I'VE MISSED YOU!!! Good news is he had a great time and has asked to back to spend the night! :) So happy he gets this special time with Aha and Mick.

Life at the Munton's

Lately, we have been laying pretty low. As I mentioned in the last post Owen developed a horrific sinus infection that is now requiring surgery. Surgery has been a topic of conversation for the past 19 months but this past infection sealed the need b/c his infections aren't getting better and something needs to happen to fix the problem. I know I am putting a lot of prayer and hope that the surgery really will be the end all to his problems. Owen isn't quite as optimistic. Surgery day is this Thursday!

So we have stayed home for the past two weekends and just had relaxing family time. It has been good. We have managed a few fun activities for Andrew and Sam which include going to the park...

...and watching movies at home. Andrew's favorites right now are Toy Story and Cars.

In other news Sam is really trying to crawl. He is also started to babble sounds that resemble a word or two. He has a such a sweet voice.

Andrew is really on his way to being potty trained. He is having trouble with going #2 but I feel like that will come. We are so proud of him. He is waking up in the middle of night when he goes to the bathroom. Last night he got up and came into our room at midnight to tell me he needed to change his pull up. Scared me to death but did love the extra rocking time I got with him. He still loves to rock at night.

So life at the Munton's has been good - low key but good.

Football 2012 - Go Dawgs

Our family kicked off the start of MSU football by going to Starkville for the 1st game. We got there on Saturday in plenty of time to tailgate and enjoy the first 2 quarters of the game. Sam did great. He wore the ear phones and fell asleep promptly at 6:30 pm. Andrew was pretty exhausted. We had a long day before the game even started. However he was a trooper and said he wanted to go back so I say that is a success in his eyes.

It was so nice having my parent's house to stay the night. We didn't have the long drive ahead of us that night and we were able to wake up on Sunday for bagels at City Bagel. Owen worked there while in college and it is always fun to go back and visit with the owners.

After church we packed up and headed home with full intentions of coming back the next weekend. But as life goes we weren't able to go b/c Owen didn't feel well due to a horrific sinus infection :(

But let's end on a happy note of pictures.

We are planning on going back in a few weeks! I sure do love to watch the DAWGS play :)

Hurrican Isaac

August 29th Hurricane Isaac threatened us so schools were closed the 29th and 30th. I took the days off (which is nice but also stressful b/c I feel guilty with work).

The 29th the boys and I did not get of our pjs all day. We played, we watched movies, and we got rainy day toys. Andrew was getting antsy at one point and I remembered that I saved some birthday gifts he got at his party for a day just like today. Both Sam and Andrew got rainy day toys and that occupied us for a solid hour.

It rained solid for days so that is why we stayed in doors. Luckily the storm was not bad in Hattiesburg. It did cause some flooding in Hattiesburg and we had tree limbs down but over all it was a nice time to take a break and be still for a little while.

On Thursday we invited our friends Brantley and Emery over for a play date. They all play so well together - except Andrew gets so wild when he is around them. I guess the excitement gets the better of him. :)

It was back to the normal grind on Friday - which also had some familiar comfort.
