"Watch the bat"

This Saturday the boys went over to the Munton's for a slumber party. Owen and I had friends over for my birthday so we thought a slumber party would be a nice idea :)

One of the stories Wanda told us was they were throwing a baseball at Andrew for him to hit with a bat. Wanda kept telling Andrew to keep your eye on the ball. But after two misses, Andrew responds with, "Aha, I think you need to keep your eye on the bat".

WATER TOWER

Andrew started spotting the water towers in town. And let me tell you - we have a lot. For example : there are three in one spot. Well now Sam spots them and it is usually a race to see who can say "water tower" first.

One day I told them water towers are dangerous. That you don't play around water towers and you don't climb fences to get to water towers - they are dangerous.

So now the boys shout "water tower" when they see one and immediately following they say "dangerous". So if nothing else in my parenting - I have taught my boys that water towers are dangerous to play around.

I want to remember this story, because just the other day I was in the car by myeslf and I saw a water tower. In my head I shouted "water tower"! I smiled the biggest smile.

A perfect Mother's Day

I had the most amazing weekend for Mother's Day. The boys truly spoiled me. Andrew and Sam seemed to understand that it was a day for Mom. Andrew wanted to get me doughnuts for Sunday. He told us about it a lot on Saturday. So on Sunday morning at 5:15 he woke Owen up (normally it is me-but not on Mother's Day). Owen convinced him to stay in bed until 6:00 am. Which Andrew did. All the boys went to get the doughnuts so I was able to sleep in a little. The day was magical from that point on.

However, Saturday was magical too. Owen took the boys in the morning for an "adventure" and I slept (or tried to anyways). But I took a break from chores and relaxed the whole time they were gone. Then we played and went to dinner at MugShots. The boys were perfect. It was the most pleasant dinner experience we have had with the two of them. They ate, they colored and they were so big and grown up.

I want to always remember this weekend! It was one of the best.

Sam brings big brother to Mommy and Me

One of the mom's in Sam's mommy and me class is a professional photographer. She said she would take pictures of the moms and babies for Mother's Day. I wanted Andrew in the picture too. He was Sam's guest for the day. Andrew did really well with being a guest. He still played but let Sam and his friends go first. I was really proud of him.

I think Sam was just as happy as Andrew about the day!!
