Mardi Gras 2015

Andrew, Graham and Wilkes

On February 7th Hattiesburg had a Mardi Gras parade. It was on a Saturday this year so we were able to go. This is the first year we have gone. We met with up some friends had the boys had a blast (Owen and I did too). Owen found a perfect parking spot and the kids were able to play with out too much traffic.

I had to remind myself I am not a kid and to let the kids get the beads, etc...my Mobile Mardi Gras instincts kicked in a little.

It was a really fun afternoon.

Party Time

One of Sam's friends from mommy and me - Ramsey McCollum had a birthday party in January. Ramsey's mom Alice and I have become friends through bunco. It was at a gymnastics place and there were 3 parties going on at the same time. After cake and ice cream, Sam and Andrew wanted to keep playing so they left the party room to go back to the gym. There is a big window so I could see them while I cleaned up and said good bye to everyone.

When I went to get the boys I could not find them. I started to get worried and asked some friends if they had seen them. They pointed over to another party and said "there they are"...and pointed to Andrew and Sam sitting on a balance beam with 20 other kids taking a group picture for another party!!! We did not know anyone in that party.

This is where they were sitting....everyone just left the picture...I was able to get a quick shot before Sam got down completely.

I still laugh when I think about this and picture them in a big group of kids...not knowing one single person.

All Aboard

Elinor and Andrew

Andrew's class took a train to Laurel, MS in January. I went too - how can I resist a real train ride. It was a pretty rainy day. After the train ride we went to tour the Lauren Rogers Museum. It is a really good museum...but the kids seemed to get a little bored after awhile. Still...it was a fun day and I loved spending the day with Andrew.
