Hub City Kwanis - #12

Andrew played baseball for the first time this spring. He was in the U5/6 coach pitch league. His team started practicing in February. It was a rough start. I was worried we were on the bad news bear team...but magically they came together and now will end the season in 2nd or 3rd place. His last game is this Saturday.

Owen and I have enjoyed baseball so much. Much more than we thought we would. The games are relaxing - at night so the weather is not too hot. Practices are fun - Andrew gets a good work out and Sam plays hard too. Night time is pretty easy since they are both so tired.

Andrew has done well. He has been a good contributor to the team on offense. Being in the outfield is tough...he does not seem to motivated to pay attention...but he is learning.

He said he wants to play again next year.

Samuel

Samuel is a funny kid. His facial expressions are hilarious. The first picture is Sam at Emery's birthday party. I love how he is sitting.

The second picture is him sleeping. Not a care in the world. He looks so comfortable that we had to take a picture.

He brings such excitement and joy into our house. Love him!!!

Dad Adventures

On the weekends, Owen usually takes the boys for an adventure. This way I get some alone time and can clean or do laundry without the help of cute little brothers.

One afternoon he took them on a trail walk behind our house. Ralphie went to and Andrew walked him. Andrew has always loved Ralphie. But Andrew has stepped it up with taking the role of his care taker. There is a deep love and bond between Andrew and Ralphie.

Spring Break part 3

On the last afternoon of our trip - it rained a little. But that did not stop us. We wore rain coats and still played. The last night we were there the boys slept in the same room. It was the end of the trip treat. They did this for the first time in Starkville the weekend before. Andrew was so tired and Sam was not as much because he was so excited. I only had to go in a couple of times to calm Sam down. But they did it! They were roommates :)

It was a fun week and so blessed that we were able to spend it with Aha and Mick. But we were ready to come home to the rest of our family.

Spring Break part 2

One afternoon the five us decided to go out to lunch. I drove since we had the van and could fit everyone. We were a little for lunch so we thought we would drive around a little. I never drive when we are the beach - Owen does! I didn't know the speed limits and got pulled over for speeding. With my in-laws in the car. It was awkward. Andrew piped up from the back "I think Aha should have driven" - He said this while we waited for my ticket. I think he was correct though. After that disappointment - we went to lunch. After lunch we dropped Mick off at the condo and the four of us went to the Naval Museum. This was our second time to go and the kids loved it just like the first time. But with them being so little - it was fun because it was like they were seeing all the planes for first time.

Andrew talks about wanting to be a pilot - then astronaut. It was really fun to see him touching all the controls and thinking he could possibly do this in the future.

Spring Break 2015 part 1

For Spring Break (Andrew's Spring Break...Sam and I tagged along) we went to the beach with the Muntons. Owen stayed back in Hattiesburg to work and to take care of Ralphie. He was definitely missed.

It was supposed to rain all week in Hattiesburg of spring break (which it did) and the beaches forecast was a little better. Luckily the first two days we were able to enjoy - it was overcast, but that is my favorite time.

We could not swim in the big poop b/c it was too cold, but the kids enjoyed the hot tub. This is the first time both boys were interested in the sand. They played so well and I was able to relax a little. Aha and Mick were there with us - so it was extra special and fun to be there with them.

Starkville Trip - March 2015

As a mommy to boys...I have taken it as my responsibility to expose them to as many fun sporting events as I can. Maybe it is because I like sporting events and hope they will too. Luckily Owen likes sports as well.

We planned a trip to Starkville to see my parents and catch a basketball game and thought we would see a baseball game too. However on Sunday Andrew was pretty ready to go home so we skipped the baseball game.

It was a fun weekend and as you can see from Andrew's picture - he was excited to see Bully!
