January 2017

As a family we loved watching the Dallas Cowboys this year. The Sellers also love watching them. They invited us over for the play off game. We had so much fun. But the Cowboys lost and that really isn't what we had planned. But we had great food, great company and the kids had a blast!!

Owen made a fire pit out of left over brick from our house project. These pictures are of the boys having the first fire with marshmallows and hot dogs.

Sam started gym glasses this month. He has 2 other friends from his SHS class that do it with him. This picture is of David Morris and Milo Chunn is the other little friend. So far he likes it.

Random pictures of Sam - I know the one with cake is from Kinsley's birthday party.

This picture is from my JA provisional class party. This is our last year so we celebrated in January at Sweetie's house. It was such a fun night!!

The boys being boys...they play so well together. January 2017 became the start of Army men. They will play with these little guys for hours!

At the beginning of January we planned to go to Starkville for a baseball camp Andrew was going to participate in. But then an ice storm came and we could not go. Normally that would not have been a problem. But we are getting our kitchen brick floors cleaned and refinished. This particular weekend was very toxic so we could not stay in the house. Instead of going to Starkville we went to the coast and stayed at Margaretville. They have a huge game area and the kids had a blast!!! It was fun for Owen and me too. It was really the best weekend.

Sam Turns 5 - Pokemon Party

Pokémon hit our house in a big way. Both boys love collecting the cards and other things that go along with Pokémon. Sam also wanted a Pokémon party - so that is what we did. We celebrated in January since his birthday is the holiday season. The night before the party a tornado hit Petal and Hattiesburg. There was a lot of damage in Petal and the night was pretty scary. We gathered in the bathroom for some of the night (my parents, Ralphie, the boys and Owen and me). As we were in the bathroom and then again in our bed - Sam asked if his party would be canceled. I hoped it would not have to be. But we lost power at our house and I was unsure about the town. That morning, Owen went to get donuts so we could see what things looked like. Krispy Kreme is next to Planet Gymnastics (party location) and they had power. We knew the party would be on then. Sam was so happy. I think parents were happy too because it gave people something to do after the crazy night.

Sam had his M&M friends, SHS friends, and family friends all attend his party. He was cloud 9! He would not even blow out his candles because he was soaking up the attention. He had the biggest smile all day. He loved getting new toys and enjoying the morning! It was a success!!

New Year's Eve

Ralphie turned 9 years old on New Year's Eve. We decided to celebrate like we did last year by inviting two other families to enjoy the night with us. We invited the Drakes and the Seller's. Their kids are around our kids ages and we just had a nice time visiting. We ordered Tabella - had dinner, drinks - the kids had dinner and glow sticks. Our new room was ready enough to be used. The families stayed until 11 so we watched the Easter New Year's ball drop. It was a great night - and fun way to start the new year.
