They went camping

The boys went camping! In our back yard. Owen and the boys could not wait to put up the tent and roast marshmallows.

They went out around 6:30. I stayed out long enough for Owen to get the fire going and then left for them to have their male bonding fun! Around 8 pm they were getting read for bed and Andrew needed socks. I went out to give them socks and Sam wanted to come inside to sleep in his own bed. Andrew stayed and around 9:20 he told Owen good night. Then rolled over and went to sleep. Andrew is such a big kid - makes me smile!

Sam on the other hand was wired from the marshmallows. He did not go to sleep until 10 pm and it was a hard fight.

Swimming lessons for Sam

When Andrew had his swimming lessons the teachers asked me why Sam wasn't doing them. The thought did not cross my mind. So we scheduled another week for Sam and Andrews. But Andrew caught the molescum virus and we are treated it - which meant no swimming for him.

Sam did really well. He listened to the instructions and that was really nice to witness. He is a hard headed child so seeing him follow a direction was comforting. :)

Bergen and Vivvie took a 2nd week with us too! When the teachers would rotate the kids would be by them selves on the steps. Sam looked so lost in his thoughts. Or maybe he was trying to be invisible. He would cry when the teacher would come and get him, but then would be ok during the swimming part. I think it scared him a little, but over all he did so good. We were very proud of him.

Father's Day

We celebrated Owen this weekend. We took the boys to see How to Train a Dragon 2 - Andrew loved it but Sam stayed 30 minutes. I think this is the movie that I will finally learn - he is too young. Sam doesn't watch tv at home so why I think he will sit through a movie is a mystery. But lesson learned this time.

The boys gave Owen a tent for Father's Day. Now they can go camping. This has been talked about for a year so all are excited to actually go outside and "camp".

Sam - 2 1/2 Update

Sam is two and a half!! WHAT!!! How is he two? He is still my baby in so many ways. I think he likes being the baby too. Even though he tells us he is a big boy. He talks so much and is so smart. I think what he knows gets overshadowed some with Andrew. We try to make sure Sam gets his turn with telling us what he knows.

Sam is funny. He likes to show off and make people laugh.

Sam still likes to cuddle and occasionally will fall asleep on me during nap times. This is my favorite.

He also loves for his momma to everything for him (and I do).

I asked Sam the same questions as Andrew and here are his answers:

What is your favorite color - pink and yellow
What is your favorite food - McDonalds
What is your favorite tv show - Max and Ruby
What is your favorite thing mommy does - paint her toe nails
What is your favorite thing daddy does - when he does the doggie
What is your favorite thing to do at school - play
What is your favorite sport - basketball
What is your favorite breakfast - did not answer - b/c he does not eat breakfast - only milk
What is your favorite fruit - oranges
What is your favorite toy - monster truck

Andrew - 4 1/2

I thought it was time for another update on the boys.

Andrew is 4 1/2...that is so hard to realize. He is a big boy in so many ways...yet so tiny in other ways.

He gets so upset when Sam messes with him. When Sam takes a toy or hits (b/c Sam does still hit when he is upset).

He still loves to be held and wants his momma to do most everything for him (which I do).

Andrew is funny and talkative! He is so smart and so loving.

I asked the boys questions the other day to see what they liked right now. Here are Andrew's answers:

What is your favorite color - blue and brown
What is your favorite food - peanut butter and bread
What is your favorite tv show - toy story 3
What is your favorite thing mommy does - Making me food
What is your favorite thing daddy does -  call me butter cup
What is your favorite thing to do at school - going with Graham to the centers
What is your favorite sport - football
What is your favorite breakfast food - oatmeal
What is your favorite fruit - banana
What is your favorite toy - blue power ranger and mickey car

Memorial Day at the beach

We went to the beach for Memorial Day. Andrew calls it "his beach". I love that. We enjoyed spending time with the Muntons. We spent our time in the sand, in the ocean and in the pool. Andrew practiced his swimming and Sam loved being in the pool too. It was one of the best weekends. I love going to the beach.

Our friends the TenEyct's and Leathers' were also at the beach so we planned a dinner out so the kids could play together.

It was a fun weekend.

Owen's New Job

Owen started a new job the week of my birthday. He had been working on this for a while (4-6 weeks) but told Magnolia State Bank on Friday May 17th that he resigned. They did not want him to work his 2 weeks, so his last day was on the 17th. It was an emotional day. Owen has worked in the building of Magnolia State Bank (before that Prime Mortgage with his parents) for 12 years. This is a big change for him professionally and personally. He does not see his parents on a daily basis anymore. But there are many positives. His new job is a promotion. He is the Vice President of Production for the State of Mississippi for Hancock Bank. He will be doing 60% producing loans himself and 40% managing the other originators in the state of Mississippi. This has been the next step for him professionally and we are both so excited about this move.

The first two weeks he traveled to Gulfport and Covington, LA four days a week. So he was exhausted. But today is the first real day of his job in his Hattiesburg office.

I want to remember how emotional and stressful this transition was because I know in just a few short months we will have forgotten (and that is the goal...to forget).

But onto exciting things for us as a family with this new role and I couldn't be more happy!!!

TOTS end of the year performance

Andrew had his last TOTS performance in May. He will attend a TOTS camp this summer but that is it since he will start Sacred Heart this August. However, Sam will start the TOTS program so we are finished with it :)

Andrew did a great job. Such a difference between this time last year and now. He knew all of his moves and did not cry.

Swimming Lessons

Andrew took swimming lessons in May. He did great. Still not a "swimmer" but he is so much farther along than last year. I am thinking of putting both Sam and Andrew in lessons again.
