Moms 40th bday

The mom in the title is ME - I turned 40 this year - May 20, 2019. I really could not believe I reached 40. My birthday was on a Monday. The boys had cub scouts - so my plan was to stay home and clean up the house. I usually get a lot done when the boys are at cub scouts. But to my surprise my sweet neighbor friends, Brec Harris, Candice Drake, Kisha Welford, Amanda Lee, Amanda Powell and Lana Clarke came over with food and wine. We had the best visit.

Then on Wednesday we went to the Country Club and had part 2 of the celebrations. We really enjoy celebrating life events with our neighbors who feel like family.

The third celebration was over Memorial Day. Thomas Rhett was playing at the Wharf and we all got tickets. Owen dropped me off at Brec's condo to get ready. Then we went to the concert. It was fabulous. We had great seats and just enjoyed ourselves so much. It was a fun week turning 40.

Drum recital

Andrew has been playing the drums for 3 years. In the fall semester they learn the samba and other Latin beats. In the spring they get to play on the drum sets. In May they have a drum recital. Andrew looks forward to Mondays after school when he gets to go to drum lessons.

While Sam and I wait for drum lessons to be over, we go the Depot. Sam gets milk or a tummy yummy drink with a brownie. I get a coke or when I want to splurge I get a cold coffee.

Sam does his homework and we get great quality time together.

Field Day

FIELD DAY!!! One of the most fun days of the year. Amanda and I volunteered again and we had the dizzy bat race - again. I think this is our 4th year at that game. We enjoy it and it is fun to see all the grades compete with each other.

It was a hot day.

Sacred Heart School

Here are some fun pictures of the boys during the school hear. First picture is Sam's class with their teaching assistant. She graduated from college. The pictures of Andrew are from a field trip to Mobile. It was a kids discovery center. They were able to touch real organs and Andrew declared he did not like that - so check doctor off the list of future professions.

The last pictures are from a spirit dress up day for their spring concerts.

Easter Egg Hunt

My parents came into town for Easter. The Country Club had their Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. Which was nice b/c it is usually on Friday - which is Good Friday - and no eating...I liked it on Saturday so much better. The boys still like hunting for eggs. Sam found one of the two golden eggs. So that was big excitement.

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras weekend my parents came into town. We had planned to go to a parade in Mobile, but talked ourselves out of it. SHS does a parade and Andrew walked in with the drum group. He really enjoys the drums.

Aha and Mick also came to the parade to watch Andrew. We stood with Sam and his class.

Spring Break 2019

Spring Break - the boys went to the beach with Owen's parents. Martha and her crew came down too. This is the second year they have done this. The boys REALLY love it. And want to do it again next year. Owen and I joined them at the end of the week. We took the boat out and had lunch at Pirates Cove. It is quickly becoming one of our favorite activities.

St. Patrick’s Day

My Special Day!! I think it was a Sunday this year. We went to the Country Club for a crawfish boil. I don't eat crawfish - but loved the company. It was a very special day - the boys always do such a great job making me feel extra loved on this day.
