Reading Fair

Andrew entered the Reading Fair at school this year. He won and was able to go to Regionals. He did his book on Neil Armstrong - so in January we went with the cub scouts to the NASA Infinity Center on the coast. Andrew was able to get pictures on Neil Armstrong's flight suit and a picture on an Earth Rise (I personally thought that was the neatest part of the trip).

In Feb 2019 Andrew competed for the Regional title for Non Fiction. He did not win - which is disappointing because he knew his book. And his board was just as good or better as the other boards. But at the end Andrew told us he was proud of himself and that is the real reason to compete. He is learning more that just reading when he enters the competition.

First Post for 2019

Well...first blog post and it is June 12, 2019. I think this is proof at how busy we have been. These are random pictures. Andrew and the band walked in Sacred Heart's Mardi Gras parade, our friend Candice celebrated her 40th birthday, our friend Lana completed chemo and is breast cancer free, and Andrew participated in the Regional Reading Fair in January.

My hope is to capture everything I can in 2019. But time is moving so fast for the Muntons.

Sam planned and decorated this party. He told me he wanted a laser tag birthday party 6 months before his birthday. He wanted the army theme - he loves to play with army men. He decorated the tables - with his own toys.

The party favors were army men packs and army/American flag bandannas (which were a big hit).

He invited his class, other school friends, his soccer team and neighborhood friends. Sam also did not want to wait long to have his party. So we planned it for the Saturday after New Year's Eve. I thought it would be a hard weekend for his friends...but it was actually a perfect weekend party. Everyone was in town and he had all of his friends celebrate him. The party and day could not have gone better :)
