Sports Camp for Sam

M&M Learning Factory where Sam goes to "school" partnered with Stretch n Grow. This was the first year and they had a sports camp during the summer. They taught the kids all the sports - track and field, basketball, football, baseball, tennis, golf, etc...Sam's favorite was track and field. He said he was faster than the coach. I believe him. He is a super fast runner.

At the end of the summer they had a show case so the parents could see what they have been doing all summer. It was cute. Sam was so proud of it. He received a certificate and a medal.

They will have Stretch n Grow all year long now as a PE. I am happy about that.

Owen's 38th Birthday

Owen turned 38 this July. My parents flocked our yard for the big day. It was really funny and the boys loved it.

We went each at the Thai restaurant in town and then went to watch "Trainwreck" the movie. It was a fun date night out.

Lazy Mornings

We took full advantage of not rushing in the mornings. The boys started waking up a little later (6:00 to 6:30 am).

We also moved the chair that was in Andrew's room into the living room. He wasn't using the chair and now he has more room. I love having the chair in the kitchen. Andrew likes it too. He cuddles up in a lot.

Summer Homework for Andrew

Andrew had a summer worksheets to do for kindergarten. We divided them up and worked on them a little each night in July. Sam tried to help.

Snow Cone Break

We took a snow cone break one day after school. It was a hit with the boys. The picture of Andrew and the truck is a funny story. When the truck pulled into the drive through Andrew commented with a "YAY". It was hilarious. He says he wants a big truck like this when he is 16. :)

Swim Lessons

Both boys had swim lessons this summer. We took them from the Mabry's. Sam was not having any of it. I had to go sit in the house so Sam would not see me. It was miserable. Then on Tuesday Sam started politicking not to go. I dropped him off screaming. Then I sat in the car. That day was the turning point. He was jumping off the diving board and swimming when I came back.

Andrew did great. He is a swimmer. Still a little unsure of himself but he is had it. He had a lot of opportunities this summer to swim so he has gotten better. He won't take lessons next year.

A day at the zoo

Friday July 3rd was a holiday for the boys. So we went to the zoo!! It was hot. It was fun. The boys loved it. We rode the carousel, the train and stared at the tigers. All in all a fun day. Then we met up with Owen for lunch.

4th of July 2015

We had one of the best 4th of July's. For a weekend that did not have anything planned we turned it into a great one. For the 4th (Saturday) we went to Jackson, MS to watch a MS Braves baseball game. We were able to see Abby and Eric for a little while too. The game was so much fun. They had a lot of things for kids to do. At the end of the game we saw a fireworks show. It was just truly a perfect day.

On Sunday, Aha had us over for lunch. Ann and Allan's family along with Martha and Conrad came over too. The kids had so much fun playing. They are big enough now that they play and we can sit and talk to everyone. It was a nice lunch.

Andrew's Summer

We all had a summer meaning - hot days but since Andrew did not have school at Sacred Heart - technically it was "his" summer.

Andrew went to M&M four weeks of the 12. He went to camp at the Racquet Club for a week. At the Racquet Club he played tennis and swam. Then I would pick him up and we would go to lunch and he would hang out with me at work.

The next couple of weeks he went to Vacation Bible School at Heritage Methodist and to Sacred Heart. He loved both weeks.

Andrew had art camp too during the summer - Super Hero Art Camp :) His friend Graham did it with him.

He had 2 fun weeks of tennis, golf, arts and crafts and swimming at KE Camps (Hattiesburg Country Club).

I think it was a busy but fun summer for our little Andrew.
